Our Story
Close friends for years, Kimberly Evans and Morgan Honings met while pregnant at a local floral industry event in 2013. They soon realized that they both had the exact same due date and were both having boys! It turned out they also lived just blocks away from one another. It was meant to be. Morgan and Kim started working together in 2014 on select projects, photoshoots and large scale weddings. Their shared fondness for modern florals and moody, ethereal blooms made them instantly click, both in and out of the design studio. Together they bring a fun, fresh and exciting new look to the Napa Valley.
Morgan Honings
Director of Events
A self-described workaholic, Morgan is just as passionate about the event industry now as she was when she first started out over fifteen years ago. Originally from Chicago, Morgan grew up horseback riding and running around barefoot during warm Midwestern summers. After a visit to Napa in 2012, Morgan fell in love with wine country and quickly made the decision to move her former floral business to Northern California.
Morgan has a love for fashion-forward modern florals. Her attention to detail and fondness for design makes her the perfect director of events for Violets of the Valley. Morgan can often be found obsessively designing events in her head while busily running around the Bay Area sourcing local ceramics and flowers for our events.
Kimberly Evans
Creative Director
Raised in St. Helena, the only daughter of an artist and a former Wall Street banker turned Esalen seeker, Kimberly spent a lot of time playing alone amongst the natural beauty of the vineyards and gardens in the Napa Valley. She moved to Santa Cruz to study fine art at UCSC, winning the Irwin Award in her graduating year. The city called and Kimberly answered, spending eight years in San Francisco, continuing her art practice and beginning her work with flowers. She trained under mentors in both the Bay Area and the Napa Valley, loving the tactile experience of using her hands to manipulate delicate organic flower material into sculptural art pieces. Kim opened her first floral business, Kimberly Rose Floral Design, in 2012. She has continued her floral artistry as the creative director of Violets of the Valley since 2019.
